Your mission
Join our team at Qblox, where we are on the lookout for an IT Manager.
At Qblox we develop high-tech control stacks for quantum computers, pivotal in generating the precise analogue signals necessary for the control and readout of quantum bits within quantum computing and networking environments.
If you know what that means - fantastic! But if you have no idea - that’s great too! Not everyone that works for us is a Quantum Engineer!
Joining Qblox in any department means becoming part of a dynamic environment, where innovation thrives and every member of our international team makes a direct impact on our success. Lots of companies say things like that, but for us it’s actually true - we’re building Quantum technology that doesn’t yet exist. Collaboration within and between our teams is key, and fostering an environment where ideas are shared and solutions are collectively crafted is a requisite - we’re a commercial business now, but our foundations lay in Research & Development.
Role Overview:
Hopefully, you already have an idea what an IT Manager role entails. But in our rapidly scaling company the role will have both bigger and smaller tasks than you might expect. You will join us at the beginning of our IT function's journey, and as we grow you will be responsible for establishing and managing the entire IT function to ensure that our technology infrastructure aligns with business goals and supports the organization.
With a focus on strategic IT initiatives - including office migrations, IT landscape mapping, and robust security management - you will play a key role in driving the company’s digital transformation. This senior role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to manage long-term IT strategy. At the same time, you will need to stay on top of day-to-day operations.
Role Responsibilities:
You will need to shape the IT landscape of a growing company, driving technological innovation and supporting our continued success. We imagine you’ll do that by focusing on:

Office Migrations and IT Projects: Manage large-scale IT projects, including office expansion overseas. Oversee the planning, execution, and seamless integration of IT systems during these transitions, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Security Management: Implement and oversee a robust IT security framework to protect the company’s data and systems. Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing to identify and address potential threats. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services. Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all IT systems.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that services meet the company’s standards and requirements. Evaluate new technologies and solutions from vendors to enhance IT capabilities.
IT Procurement: Lead the procurement of IT hardware, software, and services, ensuring that purchases align with strategic objectives and budget constraints. Oversee inventory management and asset tracking.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a small IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Set clear goals and expectations, and provide guidance and support to ensure the team’s success.
Employee Onboarding and Support: Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary IT resources and access. Develop and implement user training programs to enhance IT literacy across the organization.
Change Management: Drive the adoption of new technologies and processes within the organization. Manage change effectively by communicating the benefits, training users, and ensuring a smooth transition.
IT Policy Development: Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures, including data protection, access controls, and acceptable use policies. Ensure that all policies are up-to-date and align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring that all IT expenditures align with strategic goals and provide value to the organization. Monitor and report on budget performance, making adjustments as needed.
