Junior Facility Manager

Permanent employee, Full or part-time · Delft

Your mission

Qblox is growing and we are on the lookout for a Junior Facility Manager.

Qblox develop high-tech control stacks for quantum computers, pivotal in generating the precise analogue signals necessary for the control and readout of quantum bits within quantum computing and networking environments.  If you know what that means - fantastic!  But if you have no idea - that’s great too!  Not everyone that works for us is a Quantum Engineer.

Joining Qblox in any department means becoming part of a dynamic environment, where innovation thrives and every member of our international team makes a direct impact on our success. Lots of companies say things like that, but for us it’s actually true - we’re building Quantum technology that doesn’t yet exist.

To achieve our goals, we are rapidly scaling, which brings new challenges everyday.  We have the goal to increase our team from 100 to 220 by the end of next year. This means that this role will change overtime becoming more broad and bringing different aspects of the craft of Facility Management.

We need someone who is pragmatic and can see what needs to be done.  As a changing organisation, the role will require flexibility as you collaborate with our Facilities Manager to build new processes and shape the future of our office.  Your input will be highly valued. This role allows you to leave a lasting impact on our work and environment.

But taking care of daily operations and ensuring our workplace runs smoothly isn't all glitz and glamour, contracts and service providers.  As we grow and establish ourselves you will also need to get involved in some of the more practical, day-to-day elements - taking responsibility and getting things done.

For this role, we will need someone to be in the office a minimum of 4 days a week.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Sourcing and overseeing contracts and service providers for functions such as catering, cleaning, parking, security

  • Conducting the day-to-day facilities like lunch & meeting setup, office cleanliness, organize common areas, mail & deliveries, recycling & waste disposal, minor repairs, plant care, stock supplies

  • Advising businesses on measures to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the facility

  • Ensuring that basic facilities are well-maintained and conducting proactive maintenance including minor repairs.

  • Dealing with emergencies as they arise

  • Ensuring that facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations (RI&E)

  • Overseeing any renovations, refurbishments, and building projects

  • Helping with office relocations

Your profile
  • Previous demonstrated experience (2-4 years) in a facilities support position is essential (it is advantageous if that took place in the Netherlands).

  • We are looking for someone with the right mentality, meaning; pragmatic, with initiative, confident.

  • Good communication skills to be able to kindly influence our team and a knack for injecting humour into everyday situations is a plus :)

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

  • Ability to perform minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks.

  • Proficiency in Dutch and English is required.
