Head of Accounting & Reporting

Your mission
As the Accounting and Reporting Lead, you will oversee global financial close processes, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting. You will drive process optimization, develop accounting policies, and manage short-term cash forecasts. You will also ensure robust internal controls and create IFRS interim financial statements. With a focus on automation and efficiency, you will build and lead a top-tier team, reporting directly to the CFO.

Your role & responsibilities:
  • Drive the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes across multiple global entities, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting
  • Lead and improve financial reporting that are accurate, timely and compliant with all financial reporting regulations
  • Take lead in optimization of financial processes and drafting accounting policies
  • Spearhead short-term cash forecast initiatives, keeping stakeholders informed with weekly cash flow updates
  • Data gathering and consolidation of financial and certain non-financial data to create accurate IFRS interim financial statements
  • Review and ensure appropriate internal controls and financial procedures are in place
  • Ensure conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices aligned with IFRS and local GAAP
  • Build and retain an “A-class” Accounting and Reporting Team by hiring, retaining and developing top talent
Your profile
Education & experience:
  • Higher Education Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience 
  • Extensive experience with IFRS financial reporting, preferably in a company with multiple international entities
  • Big 4 background and relevant industry experience is preferred
  • Tech-minded agent of change with a record of optimizing manual processes, driving efficiencies and deploying automation
  • Knowledge of and experience with multiple ERP packages is an advantage
  • Operational experience with financial reporting tools such as Power BI and MS Excel
  • A forward-thinking mindset that prioritizes automation and innovation in financial workflows
  • Experience in fast growing start-up / scale up
  • Demonstrated timely decision-making and communications on complex accounting issues
  • Ability to manage and lead the audit process and the external auditor relationship
  • Fluency in English required, Dutch preferred.
