Your mission
Qblox is seeking a driven project manager to join us in our mission to build industrial scale quantum computers.The candidate will be responsible for project management, execution, and reporting for high-tech engineering projects across all aspects of our R&D organization, including electrical engineering, FPGA, (embedded) software engineering, quantum application engineering and test and development. This is an opportunity to learn about the overall business of Qblox across all R&D teams and to drive high impact change throughout the organization. To be effective in this position, candidates must possess interpersonal skills to cross functional boundaries and to build constructive and effective relationships across the entire organization. You will work closely with the roadmap leaders, quantum architects, the R&D teams, product engineering and the commercial teams. You will report to the CTO.
Your profile
Your role & responsibilities
Make sure projects are navigated through our project flow and finished within time and budget.
Actively engage and align with the R&D team leads to secure necessary resources.
Create detailed project plans including resource requirements.
Define deliverables for project team members.
Delegate tasks and follow up.
Communicate project progress to senior leadership as well as stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Understand proper escalation paths and act accordingly.
Manage external stakeholders.
Manage project interdependencies.
Understand and is able to assess and mitigate project risks based on input of team members.
Properly manage impact of changes to the initial project plan.
Education & experience
Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences or engineering. Business training (eg MBA) is highly regarded, but not required.
Minimum 8 years experience, with at least 5 years experience in managing projects in an R&D/High tech environment (must-have) with internal and external business partners.
In-depth knowledge of technology tools for data management, modeling, forecasting, and reporting purposes.
Must have practical experience with project planning and a successful track record of execution.
Project Management qualification (e.g. PMP) or other formal training is desirable.
Experience with Jira and agile methodologies (Kanban) is a plus
Technical background with relevant knowledge in at least one discipline (hardware engineering, RF engineering, embedded systems, quantum computing)
